I do the same thing! And now I have quite a stack that people got me for Christmas and before that I want to get through.

" author demonstrates how life would be altered if 6 named historical events had not happened. Mmmmm, I never could see the point in this kind of grand speculation. "

In the book I'm reading now, the author LOVES this type of "history" so it's amusing to read your take on it. :)

I'm sorry you wasted your time reading "Leaving the Saints" since it was so bad, BUT thank you for reading it so you could give me your perspective on what she shared about your church. I wonder why she would write such things - maybe she has mental problems. I've often wondered about people who falsely blame others for sexual and/or other kinds of abuses. What can they do to defend themselves when we are so quick to side with the "victims"? What about those falsely accused?

I enjoyed the book about Kosovo, too!

You have lots of good ones here. I will have to get some of them when I need a break from the books I have here waiting to be read.

Thanks for sharing. I always look forward to your reviews. I didn't know the weird backstory. In any case, I didn't like it enough to read more of her books.Bridgethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11339936940500165901noreply@blogger.com
