Freedom!!

February 7 2021--A historic day for our family: we got our second dose of Moderna! I lack words to describe how exhilarating yet humbling it is to be mostly protected from Covid. Our gratitude runneth over. We look forward to getting together with our family again!

This was a drive-through clinic at Hillsboro Stadium run by Oregon Health Sciences University. Here is the process:

These first 2 photos show the approach into the parking lot

Monitors checked our names against a printed list to verify we were eligible for the second dose

We were directed into the lane on the right for the short wait

Creeping forward in line (4 photos)

More verification and waiting to get to the actual shot stations (4 photos). We noticed many cars with younger people in them, probably teachers who are in group 1A

Shot time!

Outside waiting during the 15-minute safety time--the placard on the dash has the time we were allowed to leave, which was 1:30

Just in case of a bad reaction, an ambulance was standing by

I am super impressed with this smooth operation by OHSU. It's fast, friendly, and fun (well, fun because the result frees us up to see our grandkids!). My friend got her first shot at the Convention Center Friday, and she commented on the efficient operation there. That clinic is run by four entities: OHSU, Kaiser, Providence and Legacy.

We have participated in a miracle.
