Priceless

One more short election-related post.  This priceless, witty headline appeared in The Oregonian Wednesday morning:

I'm unhappy and surprised about the outcome.  The campaign was unpleasant in some ways.  I was bothered by a certain phrase that popped up among potential voters, now and again: that we had to choose between the lesser of two evils.  Evil these candidates are not.  Far from it.  They are good people who have differing ideas about what is best for the good ol' USA.  Evil is Stalin and Hitler and Amadinejad and Assad.  Lets appreciate our country and the voting opportunity that sets us apart from much of the world.

  1. Clever headline. My paper wasn't very original:

    OBAMA RE-ELECTED

The local and state races went well for me in NC. The Presidential election was not a surprise. I never thought Romney had a chance although most people in my area liked him. Still, we are conservative here. Must all be older, white men or something.

    1. Your headline is amusing because it is as mundane as is possible. Whoever writes Oregonian headlines is witty and borderline irreverent. I smile at his/her work daily.

I thought Romney had a chance. One acquaintance I ran into at the grocery asked 'so, are you going to vote for the black or the Mormon?". That made me realize this election had a degree of uniqueness
